Mevion to host proton therapy symposium at ASTRO 2016

Mevion Medical Systems, provider of compact proton therapy, will host an educational symposium about proton therapy during the 2016 ASTRO Annual Meeting in Boston. The symposum, “Expanding Business and Clinical Value in Proton Therapy,” will feature the following presentations from a panel of renowned proton therapy experts:

Naren Ramakrishna, MD, PhD, director of proton therapy, UF Health Cancer Center at Orlando Health

Business perspectives following two years of operation of a private proton therapy practice

Scot Ackerman, MD, medical director, Ackerman Cancer Center

Clinical opportunities for faster and sharper IMPT delivery with HYPERSCAN

Zelig Tochner, MD, professor of radiation oncology, University of Pennsylvania Proton Therapy Center

Clinical Optimization of IMPT Treatment Planning

Nick Depauw, PhD, DABR, medical physicist, Massachusetts General Hospital Francis H. Burr Proton Beam Therapy Center

The symposium will be held Sunday, September 25, 2016, from 6:30am - 7:45am at the Westin Waterfront Hotel, adjacent to the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center. Breakfast will be provided, space is limited and pre-registration is required. To register, please send an email to
